Dedicated to finding homes for cats at risk in shelters

The impetus for Tenth Life Foundation was involvement in a cat rehoming effort in 2011 that saved 25 community cats from being killed at a San Francisco Bay Area shelter.  Active in community cat rescue efforts for several years, Drs. Dawley and DeVon were contacted by the shelter after large numbers of feral cats were trapped by a local business and surrendered to the local Animal Care and Control.  Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) was not an option, so the cats were going to be killed.  While rehoming the cats, we discovered that no other groups or organizations in the San Francisco Bay Area are solely dedicated to providing alternatives for unadoptable community cats surrendered to shelters.  Without alternatives, these cats are killed.

This experience and recognition led to the formation of Tenth Life Foundation in 2011 and its incorporation in 2012.  Since that time, we have successfully placed hundreds of cats at barns, ranches, and urban and country homes throughout the Bay Area.
